Artists
Masks y Mas spotlights different artists every two to three months. The last artist was Luke Taft, who specializes in political surrealism. Taft uses acrylic on canvas as his medium on choice. His art reflects current events as well as past revolutionary icons, such as Che Guevara and Fidel Castro.
The next featured artist will be Chris Perez. Perez is known for his portraiture. He is able to capture the soul of a person and pays close attention to details in his art. Perez currently works at Artisans.
Other artists that have had exhibits at Masks y Mas have been Brandon Maldonado, who is a world renowned day of the dead artist. Magdalena Bowen-Pecora, who creates day of the dead paintings that are truly awe inspiring. She has contributed to two chino art publications in Texas.
Oscar Lozoya featured his amazing photographs in April 2008 for Masks y Mas. Lozoya captures magic with his camera. His photo imagery is one like no other.
